Anybody can grow dahlias... some people just grow them better.

HOW TO GROW DAHLIAS

LOCATION - THE IDEAL LOCATION IS ONE THAT HAS FULL SUN, BUT THEY WILL GROW WITH A MINIMUM OF 3-4 HRS SUNLIGHT.

DRAINAGE - THE SOIL MUST HAVE ADAQUATE DRAINAGE.
IT'S BETTER TO HAVE A NEUTRAL SOIL COMPARED TO AN ACID ONE.
TRY NOT TO PLANT CLOSE TO SHRUBS OR UNDER TREES.

PLANTING – THE BEST TIME IS TO PLANT BETWEEN APRIL AND JUNE.
IT'S BETTER TO PLANT WHEN THE SOIL IS DRY THEN WHEN WET.
DIG A HOLE ABOUT 4 INCHES DEEP.PLACE A STAKE IN THE CENTER OF THE HOLE AND PLACE THE TUBER WITH THE “EYE” FACING UPWARD NEAR THE STAKE. COVER WITH SOIL. TIE THE PLANT TO THE STAKE AS IT GROWS.

DO NOT WATER UNTIL THE PLANT REACHES A FOOT TALL. THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH MOSITURE IN THE SOIL TO KEEP THE TUBER MOIST. TOO MUCH WATER WILL CAUSE THE TUBER TO ROT.
WATER EVERY 2 WEEKS, MORE IF THE WEATHER IS HOT. DAHLIAS LIKE DEEP WATERING MORE THAN LIGHT WATERING.
